What this site is

Wood Fired Saunas UK is an independent publication: a researched directory of UK sauna operators and builders, and a set of practical guides. It is free to read. Using the site means accepting these terms, which are deliberately short.

The information is a starting point, not a guarantee

Listings are researched and checked, but saunas change hands, close for winter, move site, and alter their prices and booking rules without telling us. Always confirm the details that matter — opening, booking, access, price — with the operator before travelling. The site is not responsible for decisions made on listing information alone.

The guides cover topics like planning permission, building regulations, stoves, and costs. They are careful general information for the UK, not professional advice. For a specific project, confirm the position with your local authority or a qualified professional — rules differ by council, and change.

Sauna safely

Sauna involves real heat and, often, cold water. Nothing on this site is medical advice. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or have any health concern that heat or cold-water immersion could affect, ask a doctor first, and follow the safety guidance of the sauna you visit.

Submissions

When you submit a listing or suggest an edit, you confirm the information is accurate as far as you know and that you are entitled to share it. Submissions are reviewed by a person before anything is published, and we may edit for house style or decline to publish. How your personal details are handled is in the privacy notice.

Our content

The site's guides, listing write-ups, and photographs are ours or used with credit. Quote from them with attribution and a link; do not republish them wholesale. Factual data — names, addresses, locations — is not owned by anyone and you may use it freely.

Independence

Listings are not paid for. If that ever changes, paid placement will be clearly labelled where it appears.

The legal lines

The site is provided as-is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, liability for loss arising from use of the site is excluded — nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be excluded. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you think something on the site is wrong, unfair, or shouldn't be here, use the contact form — it is read by a person.
